When I stepped my foot into this industry, I'm planning to walk through every single child learning journey with assurance that they have bigger hearts to make the right decisions not because 'authority' is there but make the right decisions for their own well-being.
For some reasons, the children are so fond of me so much so that they came to me all the time when they were crying. Trying to find someone to comfort them.
When I first join this industry, I often was told not to love the children too much. Don't show too much affection to them or they'll stick to u like glue. In my humble opinion, such things happened only when you fail to make them understand that you are there whenever they needed you but you won't be sticking with them like a glue forever. They have to understand the concept of temporary comfort. When they are calmed, they have to get back into class and in line with the rest of their classmates.
Honestly, I'm no expert when it comes to this. But what I can say is I only do what I think that's right in my heart. I will never inflict pain or stressed them up. They are little people that need nurturing, love and guidance more than any other thing in the world. A comfort zone from people around that they can trust.
This is really not an easy job. It requires a lot of passion that comes from the heart. Otherwise, the little people will have to go through the consequences when teachers get tired that leads to unnecessary actions taken upon them.
It can be as easy as when the child 'pass motion'. The teachers shamelessly asked the child why did they 'pass motion'. What kind of question is that? It's so insensitive and mindless written all over it. But believe me, some teachers did that. At that moment I don't know if I want to be angry at them or just feel sad for their insensitive hearts.
All I can say is no matter whatever you do, please do it from the heart. Whatever your passion is, go with the flow of it. Don't choose something just because ur life is stuck with it.
