This year is kinda weird. Malaysia have announced that they are going to be celebrating Eid tomorrow but not Singapore. How can us being so near yet a day apart celebrating Eid. It's mind boggling to me.
Anyway, we are about to enter Syawal in a day time. For me, as usual during Eid, I will be at home after visiting mom. I don't intend to go anywhere. If it's possible I would like to get away from this celebration as far as I can. Not that I'm not appreciating Eid. Just that my Eid only last for an hour and my life goes back to normal. It doesn't drag me for days for me.
I know for some people out there, they will be celebrating Eid all out for a month. But not for me.
Alright let me briefly tell you what I like about it. It's a celebration after a whole month refraining ourselves from wrong doings, hunger and thirst. The good food that's coming. Nice shows on TV and not to mentioned the off days that I will get. Other than that nothing special.
Year in, year out, people don't apologise sincerely. Why do I say that? On Eid, people who celebrate it will have what I call "crying fest". Fake apology session started where everyone will start apologising to one another and cry for what wrong they have done to the other person.
In my logic, if you really feel from the core of your heart that you have done wrong towards others, why not apologise on the spot? Why is there a need to wait for Eid to do that? Is it because for show. Just because everyone is doing it, you did it as well?
Another thing that really bothered me is why are we giving money out to kids that have parents that can afford everything for them? Why don't give it to those who really need it? To those who can't afford food with or without Ramadan.
Just a random thought from me everytime Eid comes. Don't mind me. Now go enjoy your Eid and holiday season. Have a blessed one.
